barrington gore ii

founder & principal

Barrington has built and sustained authentic community spaces throughout his career, empowering and developing staff and activists through impactful voter turnout initiatives, trainings, rallies, protests, and grassroots advocacy. He has led teams with clarity and purpose towards collective goals and victorious campaigns.

In the Rust Belt as public sector unions faced unprecedented attacks, Barrington campaigned in solidarity with workers against the rollback of collective bargaining rights in Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. As a union leader and organizer, he has represented working people from across the spectrum; in firehouses, airport basements, Silicon Valley tech campuses, and TV commercial sets. He learned from workers about their lived experiences and helped them mobilize to fiercely and unapologetically advocate for their moral and legal rights at work.

He served in leadership roles on a highly competitive U.S. Senate race in North Carolina, a U.S. House race in northern California, and led volunteer training for the Nevada Presidential caucus.

At the ACLU Barrington worked with civil libertarians and People Power activists across the United States, designing and resourcing campaigns that created leaders and executing rapid response actions in moments of consequence. He worked across issues areas including but not limited to criminal/legal reform, disability justice, housing justice, immigrant rights, LGBTQ+ rights, police reform, racial justice, and reproductive justice. He served as a project manager on priority electoral campaigns, internal initiatives and as a coach and confidant to organizing, political, and advocacy staff across all 50 states.

He proudly served as a member of the organizing and bargaining committees for ACLU Staff United/IFPTE Local 70 where he was part of the team that formed a staff wide union and negotiated their first collective bargaining agreement which secured wage increases and work-life balance improvements for ACLU staffers.

Barrington was born and raised in West Virginia. He developed an interest in politics, history, and current events from an early age, spending hours at the South Charleston Public Library and volunteering on local campaigns.

He founded BGO Consulting in 2025 to build a firm that supports and develops resilient leaders and organizations in a changing political environment.
